Decorate environments

Choose Relaxing Colors for the Walls

Too bold or dark of colors can be another distraction in your bedroom. If you want to feel relaxed and peaceful in your bedroom, be sure that the colors of the walls are relaxing and peaceful. Stick with neutral or pastel colors such as tan, cream, light pink, and light yellow. Avoid harsh colors like red, black, and dark green as they can actually affect your mood in a negative way.

Get a Comfortable Bed and Mattress

Your bed should match the style of the bedroom but most of all it needs to be comfortable. If your bed and mattress are uncomfortable, there is no way that you will be able to fall asleep at night very easily. If you must have a certain type of bed for your bedroom, then make sure that you buy the most comfortable mattress for the bed to compensate for any awkwardness of the actual bed.

Buy the Proper Window Treatments to Block out the Light

Window treatments have double duty when it comes to bedrooms. They should be stylish and add some character to the décor of the room, but they should also be functional. The window treatments that you choose for your bedroom should be able to block out the light so that you are waking up at 5:00 am when the sign starts rising. You can also choose a great curtain or valance to dress the window with and then add a pair of functional blinds as well.

Include a Water Feature in the Bedroom

A water feature such as a small fountain in your bedroom may be just the thing that you need to be able to relax at night. The soft trickle of water can actually be a great sound to fall asleep to at night. It can help calm your mind and help you fall asleep quicker. When getting a water feature in your bedroom, just be sure that the sound of the water is soothing and not annoying to you.
